Job Summary:
This Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position is located in Hilo, Hawaii. The role involves floating between various medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and, on rare occasions, the Cardiovascular Unit. Candidates are required to bring their Hawaii license on the first day of assignment. This position is suited for nurses with 0 or more years of experience who are comfortable with 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Hilo, Hawaii
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1845 to 0715)
• Hours: Scheduled for 36 hours per week following a one-week orientation period; hours are not guaranteed
• Required Qualifications: Hawaii license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); 0 or more years of experience; experience working on a Medical Surgical Floor, with familiarity in procedures such as wound vac and chest tubes; EMR experience with Meditech EMR
• Preferred Qualifications: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), Procedural Sedation, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other units/departments including Medical, Laulima, and Cardiovascular units
• Training & Orientation: Orientation time provided for each unit, with specific training upon arrival
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must arrive the Thursday prior to start date for employee health appointment on Friday; failure to meet this requirement may impact their start date
• Additional Information: Position urgency is classified as normal
