Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a free-standing Emergency Department, requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and comfort working solo on night shifts.

Job Details

• Free-standing Emergency Department with 10 beds and an average census of about 10 patients per shift,
• Patient population is mostly adults with occasional pediatric ER patients,
• Common diagnoses include OBGYN, general, abdominal, and vascular cases,
• 12-hour night shifts, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM,
• 36 hours per week on a mostly set schedule,
• On-call requirement of 1 weeknight per week (10:30 PM-following morning) and 1 weekend per month (Friday night-Monday morning), with a 30-minute response time,
• Weekend night schedule staff will not take weekend call, only 1 weeknight call shift per week,
• Rare floating possible to Yakima Hospital,
• Uses EPIC EMR, Philips View PACS, and GE Logiq P9 ultrasound equipment,
• Sole ultrasound tech on shift, supported remotely by ER RN, ER Providers, RT, off-site Radiologist, and phone-accessible Manager/Supervisor,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required,
• ARDMS certification in OB and ABD required; RVT preferred,
• BLS certification required,
• License required if applicable,
• General scanning skills including abdomen, pelvic, and testicular studies,
• Vascular skills including DVT and arterial studies,
• OBGYN skills across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester exams, including size/dates and BPP,
• Must be comfortable working solo as the only ultrasound tech on shift,
• First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of experience,

Additional Information

• Will attempt to redirect 2nd and 3rd trimester OBGYN patients as appropriate,
• 2-5 days of orientation, including facility NEO; night shift staff will orient during day shifts,
• Holiday expectations follow the normal scheduled shift,
• Up to 3 days of RTO can be approved,
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs,
