CAD Engineer/Librarian Intern (Fall 2026)

CAD Engineer/Librarian Intern (Fall 2026) Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits and provides dedicated, secure networks for government, enterprise, and military clients worldwide. With five operational satellites and many more on the horizon, Astranis services a backlog of over $1 billion in commercial contracts. The internship offers 12 weeks of paid, hourly work for students currently enrolled at a college or university. (Graduated students may apply for the Associate Engineer position.) Peers who have rotated through this program often develop hardware and software destined for space and many transition into full‑time roles. Role Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for the spacecraft and its supporting structures. Maintain and improve the design library and data infrastructure. Develop, ideate, and document design practices that promote efficiency and quality. Requirements Four‑year B.S. degree or currently pursuing an M.S. in mechanical, aerospace, physics, applied mathematics, or industrial design. Passion for hardware development and ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. Experience with SolidWorks. Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings. Bonus Design of complex assemblies and components. Design of spaceflight or vacuum‑compatible systems. Surface modeling experience. Base Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour.
