Maintenance Technician II (Plumber/Pipefitter)

AbbVie seeks a Maintenance Technician II to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain plumbing and piping systems in an industrial setting. The role includes equipment repair, backflow testing, and mentoring junior technicians. Position operates Monday–Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in North Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities
- Perform plumbing maintenance, repair, and new construction installation work in industrial/commercial facilities
- Test, inspect, and replace piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues to maintain equipment functionality and production schedules
- Communicate with stakeholders to identify problems and assess damage extent
- Train and mentor less experienced technicians on proper procedures and best practices
Requirements
- Illinois State Plumber's license required
- High school diploma with 5+ years plumbing experience, or relevant certificate with 3+ years, or associate degree with 1+ years
- Proficiency with power tools and hand/measuring tools in industrial environments
- Illinois Backflow tester certification preferred
- Knowledge of GxP standards and manufacturing compliance practices
