Security Officer

Reports To: Environmental Service Director and Director of OperationsFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDuties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned,Maintains a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, visitors, and families by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnelSecures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entryObtains help by sounding alarmsPrevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; and preventing trespassersCompletes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnessesMaintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controlsMaintains organizations stability and reputation by complying with company policies and procedures, state licensure requirements, and JCAHO standardsEnsure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; trouble shooting malfunctions; and informing the maintenance director and director of operations of any problemsAct lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or propertyAct as a consistent presence to deter criminalsReport any suspicious/unusual occurrences to authorities and managementPatrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeterMonitor alarm systems and video camerasOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school degree or equivalentWork experience as a security officer or other relevant positionBasic computer skills necessary for reporting and communicationsWillingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all timesCurrent TB testValid drivers licensePhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
