Logistics Supply Specialist

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-focused Logistics Supply Specialist to support the equipment, supplies, PPE, facilities, and operational needs that keep our fire and EMS personnel ready to respond.

More Than a Warehouse Position

The Logistics Supply Specialist plays an important role in keeping TMFPD operationally ready. This position orders, receives, tracks, stores, distributes, and maintains the fire, EMS, rescue, PPE, station, and operational supplies and equipment our personnel rely on every day.

The position also supports facility work requests, inventory accountability, vendor coordination, PPE maintenance and decontamination, equipment deliveries, apparatus movement, and logistical support during large-scale emergency incidents.

What You'll Do

• Order, receive, inspect, stock, distribute, and maintain inventory of fire, EMS, rescue, PPE, station, and other operational supplies and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to support operational readiness.
• Monitor expiration dates, recalls, lot numbers, service-life requirements, storage requirements, and product condition.
• Rotate stock and remove expired, recalled, damaged, or otherwise unusable items in accordance with established procedures.
• Review and monitor facility work requests, coordinate service needs with staff and vendors, and perform minor routine facility maintenance.
• Deliver materials to District locations and pick up special or rush orders from local vendors.
• Maintain requisition, inventory, purchasing, distribution, and accountability records.
• Coordinate with financial management staff to support accountability of District equipment and inventory.
• Assist with training personnel in the proper use of new equipment and chemicals purchased for District facilities.
• Drive fire department apparatus for relocation, pickup, delivery, or transport to repair vendors.
• Launder and decontaminate equipment and clothing and arrange maintenance or repair of PPE as necessary.
• Respond as directed to provide logistical support during emergency incidents.

Experience & Training Requirements One year of full-time experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or other related position involving purchasing, receiving, disbursing, and accounting for a variety of equipment and supplies, including fire, EMS, medical, safety, or other operational supplies; OR an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Required at Time of Application Valid driver's license. Required After Appointment Within 3 Months Nevada Class "C" Driver's License with "F" endorsement. Within 6 Months ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800. NWCG S-130 Basic Wildland Firefighter. NWCG S-190 Introduction to Fire Behavior. L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service. Within 1 Year Forklift certification. Within 3 Years Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with "N" endorsement.

What We're Looking For This position requires someone who values accuracy, organization, safety, service, and follow-through. Successful candidates should be able to:

• Maintain accurate inventory and distribution records.
• Identify shortages, expiration concerns, replacement needs, and replenishment requirements.
• Safely organize, store, rotate, issue, and distribute operational supplies and equipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, dollies, carts, and forklifts.
• Safely operate off-highway equipment, hand tools, power tools, snow blowers, and small-engine equipment.
• Connect and tow trailers on a variety of roadways.
• Read and interpret manufacturer information, product labels, expiration dates, service-life information, and storage requirements.
• Prioritize multiple projects, work orders, assignments, and service requests.
• Communicate clearly with District personnel, vendors, and cooperating agencies.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment This is a hands-on position that works across warehouse, station, facility, vehicle, and outdoor environments. Employees must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, twist, climb, drive to different sites and locations, and lift up to 50 pounds. Work hours will normally involve a 40-hour work week; however, the position may be required to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and after-hours events as assigned. The position must also be available for callback to assist during large-scale emergency incidents.
