Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year in Critical Care or Level I Trauma Center License: Pending License Accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV Start, Telemetry, Critical Care Must-Have: Must pass EKG exam Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Night shift nurses will work three 12-hour shifts. The schedule includes 24 hours of on-call responsibilities within a six-week period. Nurses are expected to pre-operate patients for early cases when there are no patients in the PACU. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Weekend requirements are not applicable. Candidates must possess certifications in BLS and ACLS, along with skills in ventilator management, telemetry, and critical care. On-call responsibilities are required as needed. Candidates may float within their service line to meet facility needs. Candidates should have experience in managing patients recovering from general anesthesia, including those with multiple drains and vasoactive drips. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients. Critical care experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable with Epic charting systems. Our unit is equipped to care for a diverse range of surgical patients. Nurses will be involved in recovery from various complex surgical procedures.
