Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PT, Wkd Nights (Non-NICU)

Position The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge, experience, and the evaluate‑and‑treat process. Shift: Night (United States of America) Hours: Part‑time Nights, 7p‑7a Weekends starting on Friday (24 hrs per week) Location: Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, including our teams, culture, and campus environment. Responsibilities Deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem‑patient care situations, primarily in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management. Provide patient, family/support system education, coordination of activities, staff development, and professional and self‑developmental activities. Administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen & medical gas therapy. Perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation; airway management (intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care). Perform arterial blood gas sampling & analysis. Collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care and verify orders. Assist in invasive and non‑invasive procedures, Cardiac Service procedures, Pulmonary Diagnostic Testing. Promote current and accurate electronic orders, charting and charging; promote high level of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.); promote performance improvement initiatives; promote evidence based practice; review revised and new DPPs. Educate patient and mentor/precept new employees, students and peers. Required Minimum Experience 0‑2 years clinical experience with a minimum 6‑months critical care. Required Minimum Skills Ability to communicate well, critical thinking skills, and establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Computer skills including familiarity with databases. Good customer relations, assessment and communication skills.
