SEO Strategist

Must have skills (most important):

• Marketer/agency/consultative services experience in SEO
• Knowledge of technical SEO principles, onsite and offsite techniques
• Strong proficiency with SEO tools, such as SEMRush, aHrefs, Botify, Screaming Frog, etc.
• Expert understanding of the latest SEO trends and technologies.
• Experience in relevant web design principles, UX/CX best practices
• Experience communicating the value that SEO, branding, content, and information architecture has on KPIs and business drivers
• Experience analyzing large data sets, monitoring campaigns for improvements, and ensuring campaign goals are being fully met
• Knowledge of tech stacks, analytics tools, etc.
• Experience in project management and working cross-functionally to accomplish business goals.
• Experience in Agile preferred
• Experience optimizing ecommerce and lead generation websites
• Expert understanding of consumer or user experience best practices for web and app
• Proficiency in backlink and external linking strategy
• Experience working with enterprise level websites (50,000+ organic traffic/mo)

Job duties:

• The SEO strategist role is focused on supporting the VCG SEO team in omni-channel strategy, execution, and analysis via SEO best practices and innovation.
• Client is looking for a passionate search marketer with experience in technical SEO, content strategy, and data-driven marketing.
• The candidate in this position will have deep experience in all aspects of SEO, as well as expertise with data analysis and a vision for how data can direct SEO decision-making.
• Creating and developing cohesive, compelling SEO strategies that guide the development and content processes with our strategic partners across the business.
• Providing tactical SEO insights for on-page and technical optimizations.
• Proactively identify quick wins and long-term opportunities through ongoing analysis of websites and assets.
• Serving as a trusted consultant, practitioner, and advocate for the SEO discipline.
• Communicating strategic visions to internal stakeholders and partnering across business units (Marketing, IT, Consumer Insights).
• Collaborating closely with the Operations and Design teams to ensure SEO requirements are integrated and understood.
• Maintaining expert level understanding of latest industry trends, guidelines, and algorithm changes.
• Reporting on impact of SEO implementations on business KPIs. Synthesizing data into actionable recommendations.
• Partnering with technical teams, including (but not limited to) technology, front end development.

Education or certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or five or more years of work experience

• This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
