What We're Looking For: Master Trade Services, located in Sauk Rapids, MN, is currently seeking a full-time HVAC Technician for Multi-family properties who is experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated. The position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) systems within a multifamily apartment community. This position plays a critical role in ensuring resident comfort, maintaining equipment efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall property operations. Job Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to) HVAC Maintenance & Repair Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, PTAC units, rooftop units, and ventilation systems. Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems according to company schedules and manufacturer recommendations. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues. Replace defective components such as motors, capacitors, contactors, thermostats, compressors, and control boards. Inspect and test system performance to ensure proper operation and energy efficiency. Respond to HVAC-related service requests in occupied and vacant apartments. Apartment Maintenance Support Assist with apartment turnover preparation, including HVAC inspections and repairs. Change air filters and clean HVAC coils, condensate lines, and associated equipment. Support general maintenance activities when needed, including light plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs. Maintain common area HVAC systems and mechanical rooms. Resident Service Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to residents. Communicate repair needs, timelines, and system operation information clearly to residents and management. Ensure work areas are left clean and safe following service completion. Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations. Properly handle refrigerants and hazardous materials. Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and inventory documentation. Follow company safety policies and emergency response procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicle Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project success On-Call Responsibilities Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours HVAC and maintenance emergencies. Respond to emergency service requests in a timely manner. Requirements Who We Are Looking For (Ideal Candidate): Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of HVAC service experience. EPA Section 608 Certification. Working knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and HVAC controls. Ability to diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems independently. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong customer service and communication skills. Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen. Preferred Experience in multifamily housing, apartments, or property management. HVAC technical school certification or associate degree. NATE Certification or equivalent industry certifications. Universal EPA Certification. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions Ability to climb ladders and stairs. Work in mechanical rooms, attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to respond to emergency calls outside regular business hours. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of HVAC installation and repair best practices. Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple service requests in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with maintenance software and mobile work order systems. Ability to work independently and in a team setting Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Compensation Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
