Sales Manager in Training

Responsibilities Coach and develop sales staff to meet monthly revenue goals and conversion ratios. Train team in prospecting, public speaking, closing, product knowledge, pricing, payment terms, electronic contracts, and effective sales prospecting techniques. Review sales contracts for compliance with company processes and regulatory requirements, providing feedback to sales staff. Use CRM systems to identify and assign warm leads, collaborate with marketing and sales management on campaign development, target audience selection, and advertising strategies to increase market share. Develop annual sales plans for each associate, identifying actions that support goal attainment. Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiencies and support change initiatives. Support change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment, and adapt to new work structures, processes, and cultures. People Development Build a strong, trusting, and reliable team, understanding members’ career aspirations and providing assignments to develop skills and close gaps. Address issues constructively and provide tangible, appropriate feedback. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. Screen, hire, promote skilled staff and recommend pay increases and career advancements. Train staff on processes, procedures, and controls. Requirements High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s degree in a related discipline preferred). Series 6 or 7 License, current in the operating state, or obtain within six months of employment. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. At least four (4) years of sales experience in outside or inside direct sales to consumers, with a proven record of exceeding sales goals and conversion ratios. Proficient in CRM databases and Salesforce.com, electronic sales contracts, and funeral services industry experience a plus. Strong leadership qualities, professional written and verbal communication skills, influencing and public speaking abilities. Comfortable with in-home sales, conducting group presentations, and working with remote stakeholders. Positive attitude, self‑motivation, process and results orientation, cognitive ability to reason, plan, solve problems, and learn quickly. MS Office Suite skills. Work Conditions Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions; local and/or multiple location travel required. Comply with field dress code policy. Frequent standing (up to 6 hours per day) and sitting (up to 6 hours per day); climbing stairs to access buildings frequently. Physical effort requiring manual dexterity; includes paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage; lifting, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds. Work hours may extend beyond “standard” hours as needed; local travel up to 25%. Compensation Hourly rate $23–$28 per hour.
