Registered Nurse (RN) - Peri Anesthesia

Position Information

Role: RN
Specialty: Peri Anesthesia
Shift: Variable between 5:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: One every 5-6 weeks
Call Requirements: Yes

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 31 (19 pre-op/same day surgery and 12 phase I PACU)
Patient Ratios: 2:1 average
EHR: Epic, Omnicell
Patient Population: All ages

Essential Skills and Experience

Ambulatory/Outpatient and Inpatient care
Experience in a Level III Trauma Center
Pediatric PACU and Phase I PACU experience
Management of Arterial lines, Dysrhythmias, and Endo/Laparoscopic procedures
Expertise in various surgical specializations including General, Gyn, Ortho, Thoracic, Urology, and more
Management of Blood Products, Central lines, and IVs
Experience with Procedural Sedation Administration and Reversal agents
Pre/Post Operative procedures and assessments

Preferred Skills and Experience

Trauma Level II experience
Experience in a teaching hospital
Familiarity with Cerner
Previous leadership experience
Bariatric procedures and monitoring
Ability to handle complex Post Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR procedures

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

ENT, General, Surgical oncology
Orthopedic, Urology, Bariatrics, Colorectal
