Tier4 Group is seeking a Senior AWS Developer to design, build, and support a serverless application that enables secure online form submission, document processing, and integration with enterprise document management systems. The solution will leverage AWS cloud services, React, Python, and PostgreSQL to support scalable, secure, and compliant business processes.

Contract Duration: Initial 6-month engagement with potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications.
• Lead full software development lifecycle activities including architecture, technical design, deployment planning, and documentation.
• Build and support serverless solutions using AWS services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and integrations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and source code repositories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and project managers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
• Follow established development, security, and change management practices.

Required Technical SkillsAWS & Cloud Development

• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
• 3+ years developing serverless applications using:
  • AWS Lambda (Python)
  • Step Functions
  • API Gateway
  • Amazon Cognito
  • CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK
  • Amazon S3
  • CloudWatch
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.

Front-End Development

• 3+ years of React development experience.
• Strong knowledge of React Hooks, Context API, and functional components.
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG).

Back-End & Database Development

• 4+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years of PostgreSQL experience, including:
  • Database design and optimization
  • Complex query development
  • Performance tuning
  • Security and connection management
• Experience designing and consuming REST and SOAP APIs.

Integration & Enterprise Systems

• Experience integrating with enterprise applications and document management systems.
• Knowledge of document processing, file validation, and binary data handling.
• Familiarity with API documentation standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and Docker containers.
• CMIS and enterprise content management experience preferred.
• Experience with SOAP/XML services and MTOM attachments preferred.

Development & Methodology

• Strong Git version control experience.
• Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing experience.
• Agile/Scrum development experience.
• Commitment to code quality, peer reviews, and documentation best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of software development experience in team-based environments.
• Strong experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Experience with application servers and cloud-hosted environments.
• Ability to design efficient database solutions and write high-quality, testable code.
• Experience supporting secure application architectures and Agile development practices.

Preferred Skills

• Enterprise content management and document processing platforms.
• Oracle and Java/J2EE development experience.
• Experience supporting highly regulated or compliance-driven environments.
