Description

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine with a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARDMS OB/GYN certification for a clinic-based sonography role.

Details

• Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic setting specializing in high-risk pregnancy ultrasounds
• Patient population includes adolescents and adults with a variety of high-risk pregnancy diagnoses
• Average daily census of 12 patient visits across 6 ultrasound rooms and 2 NST rooms
• Sonographers typically scan 10–12 patients per day, including full anatomy surveys, follow-up scans, growth scans, and dopplers
• Special procedures include amniocentesis
• Equipment includes Samsung HR ultrasound machines (9 total) and Trophon system for vaginal probe cleaning
• Documentation completed in Epic and ASOB; Epic experience preferred
• Schedule is Mon–Thu 7:45 AM–5:00 PM and Fri 7:45 AM–1:00 PM (4x8 plus 1x5 hours)
• No call, float, or weekend requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography experience required
• ARDMS OB/GYN certification and current BLS required; license required if applicable
• Required fetal scanning skills: abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, head, and heart
• Required OB/GYN skills: 1st–3rd trimester scanning, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, inter/intra-orbital measurements, multiple pregnancy, placenta previa, and umbilical cord Doppler
• Required procedure skills: amniocentesis
• Required additional skills: cervical length and transvaginal scanning
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Two manager or supervisor professional references from within the past 2 years are required (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)

Additional Information

• Clinic team consists of 2 MDs, 3 sonographers, 2 CMAs, and 2 clerical staff; travelers will receive support from 3 full-time sonographers
• Orientation is approximately 40 hours; weekly orientation schedule applies and missing any portion may result in a delayed or canceled start
• Pre-start online modules (approximately 4–5 hours for non-acute roles) are required and must be completed annually
• Royal blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
• High-risk OB, obstetrics experience, and knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE are preferred
• Travel pairs are permitted provided each has their own transportation and can accommodate potentially different schedules
