Qualifications and Credentials:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
• Experience working with middle school students and supporting diverse learning needs strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of special education law, IEP processes, and effective teaching strategies
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with general education staff, students, and families
• Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, track student progress, and maintain compliance with special education requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional special education services in a resource classroom setting
• Support and monitor students with IEPs, ensuring their academic and social goals are met
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to modify curriculum and deliver accommodations
• Track student progress and adjust supports as needed to maximize success
• Manage, update, and maintain accurate special education documentation and records
