Endoscopy Technician

A Brief Overview The shift will be 0700-1730. On call requirement. Located at Elyria Medical Center. Assists in safe, efficient endoscopic procedures that the physicians will use as a tool for making a diagnosis for Adult patients. Assist in procedure rooms in caring for patients, obtaining specimens, cleaning, and turnaround of procedure room. Be knowledgeable in high level disinfected practices and record keeping. Be proficient in endoscopic equipment, set up, maintenance and troubleshooting. They will cross train to assist in procedures as needed. Participates in staff development and actively pursues professional and self-development. What You Will Do Accurately decontaminates and reprocesses endoscopic equipment and accessories. (35%) Under the direction of an RN, assists in procedure rooms to assist in caring for patient, obtaining specimens, and the cleaning and turn around of procedure rooms and pre and post recovery areas. (35%) Maintains the cleanliness of all procedure rooms and reprocessing room. (20%) Maintains inventory of endoscopy supplies, reprocessing supplies and equipment. (10%) Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
