Expanded Functions Dental Assistant – EFDA Pickerington Family Dental is looking for an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant with EFDA certification to join a collaborative and community‑focused 9‑person team. This role supports the clinical treatment care of patients, manages supplies, and adheres to all OSHA and company safety policies. Responsibilities Assist the dentist in all aspects of treatment, including managing dental emergencies. Take and develop X‑rays and provide comprehensive post‑operative dental procedures. Organize and maintain lab equipment and clinical supplies. Take and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs. Ensure patient comfort, soothe upset patients, and educate them on procedures. Work efficiently to maintain the supported dentist’s schedule. Improve clinical skills through continuing education and training opportunities offered by Heartland Dental. Travel at least once every other month for training; occasional overnight travel may be required. Qualifications EFDA certification (required). Positive and outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent patient care skills and strong organizational skills. Superior working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. Ability to build rapport with patients. Good manual dexterity. Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs. Dental assisting school certificate is a plus. Previous work experience in a dental practice is a plus. Benefits Medical and prescription drug insurance.
