Join our HomeWorks team in Northern New Jersey. This per diem position offers $16-$20 per hour, with the flexibility to pick day, evening, or night shifts. No experience or certification needed.

About the Community
UMC HomeWorks is the home care agency of United Methodist Communities, a New Jersey nonprofit that has served older adults for more than 100 years. Our Companion Caregivers support older adults in Sussex, Warren, Morris, Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties by assisting with everyday activities and fostering meaningful social connections at home.

What you'll do

• Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, shopping trips, errands, and faith-based services as requested
• Assist with meal planning and preparation, and provide companionship during mealtimes
• Support a clean, organized, and safe home environment through light household tasks
• Encourage social engagement through conversation, hobbies, games, and other preferred activities
• Follow individualized service plans and communicate changes in client well-being, routines, or safety needs to the appropriate team members

What You'll Need

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to read, write, and speak English to follow care plans and communicate with clients and staff

Preferred:

• Experience in caregiving, personally or professionally
• Comfortable working independently in a client's home

Pay & Benefits

• $16–$20 per hour, based on shift, level of care, and weekend scheduling
• Extra pay for holidays and weekends worked
