PRN - Radiologic Technologist

Position Summary The Radiologic Technologist performs x‑ray procedures to produce images for diagnosing disease processes. Procedures can be performed at various locations throughout the Main Campus and at hospital‑associated imaging facilities. Competence is required for both fixed and mobile x‑ray devices. Experience is required in high‑acuity areas, surgical areas, and less acute outpatient customers. Radiologic Technologists are expected to participate in the training of student technologists. Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions Competent in the use of all x‑ray equipment, both fixed and mobile. Provide service throughout the department. Demonstrates flexibility and openness to new approaches in response to changing organizational and healthcare needs. Seeks assistance appropriately regarding policies, procedures, patient safety, infection control, and other departmental and organizational requirements. Upholds safety standards for staff, patients, vendors, and customers. Ensures patients are treated in a timely fashion and participates in the transport process to support satisfaction. Provides input to Radiology Physician leadership regarding interactions that provide world‑class care in a teaching facility. Serves as a department resource and assists in continuing education for staff. Reports potential hazards, safety, and behavioral issues to Radiology leadership to maintain a safe, world‑class environment. Completes mandatory educational assignments as assigned by Team Leaders, Supervisor, or Assistant Director. Performs the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Other duties as assigned. Graduate of a 2‑year accredited Radiology Technology program. Preferred Education and Experience Associate’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree. Required Licensure and Certification Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA). Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) – Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) within 90 days. Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Preferred Language Skills Additional language a plus. Knowledge Requirements Ability to use computer systems to perform patient testing and retrieve data related to quality and performance monitoring.
