Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 to join their team. As a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1, you will be part of the Data Center Operations supporting the technical infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Sterling, VA

Duration: 18 Months on W2

Pay Range: $26 - $28/hr + Benefits & PTO

Regular Business Hours, Mon through Fri

What's the Job?

Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission process
Run, label, and stage power and networking cables for equipment removal
Follow procedures for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning hardware with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads
Prepare, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions and standard procedures
Conduct physical audits of datacenter assets to ensure accuracy and compliance

What's Needed?

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work safely with PPE such as safety glasses, impact-resistant gloves, and steel-reinforced boots
