On-Air and Digital Fundraising Intern

Position Title: On-Air & Digital Fundraising Intern Department: Membership & On-Air Fundraising Reports to: Senior Director, Digital & On-Air Fundraising Classification: Temporary, Part-Time (20‑30 hours), Non‑Exempt Duration: July 20, 2026 – October 9, 2026 Office Location: Burbank, CA and Costa Mesa, CA (Hybrid) Compensation: $18.00/hourly PBS SoCal is looking for a passionate On‑Air & Digital Fundraising Intern. Job Overview The Intern will support the production of a YouTube series that blends video games and education, and the broadcast television fundraising efforts of the Membership department. Responsibilities include editing videos, creating graphics, participating in pre‑production meetings, and assisting with on‑site production as needed. Primary Duties / Responsibilities Edit YouTube episodes and shorts, and broadcast TV pledge breaks and spots using Adobe Premiere Pro. Create graphics and animation for use in the production. Participate in pre‑production meetings with the host and producer to discuss show content, review episodes, recommend guests, and strategize marketing. Assist the production team in recording sessions at the Burbank or Costa Mesa studio two to three times during the internship, handling cameras, lights, audio, set design, and production decisions. Coordinate craft services for the production team, including ordering and receiving deliveries. Participate in intern events and trainings at the Costa Mesa and Burbank offices. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age. Available for a minimum of 20, but no more than 30 hours per week. Reliable transportation for in‑person meetings and events. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. Deep interest in PBS’s mission, education, and video games. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders using tact and discretion. Ability to take initiative and problem‑solve in related areas while working effectively in a team environment. Ability to thrive in an experimental, shifting‑priority environment with deadlines. Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle objects, reach with arms, talk, hear, stand, and walk. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Work Environment Primarily in a general office or home setting, with occasional off‑site travel.
