Aviation Project Manager

Job Location: Central Office, 105 W Capitol Ave, Jefferson City, MO Consideration to work at an available MoDOT District office or facility may be given to the successful candidate. Why you’ll love this position: The aviation project manager (airport project inspector) is responsible for administering state and federal airport improvement grants through all phases of an aviation project, from grant application through construction and final closeout, to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision. MoDOT will bring candidates onto the team as entry-level, intermediate, or senior level, based on your skills and experience. This opening is for one of our CAREER-LADDER positions which offers the opportunity for career advancement without having to participate in the competitive selection interview process. This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $72,691.68, and a senior starting salary of $78,506.88. The entry salary for candidates who do not have an engineering degree from an ABET‑accredited college or university curriculum (require a waiver) will be $52,511.52, the intermediate salary of $56,712.48, and senior salary will be $61,249.44. Note for internal applicants: Successful candidates already at rates above the posted salary will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine final salary outcome. Reviews and approves aviation project plans and specifications Monitors contract administration activities on aviation projects statewide to ensure construction quality meets approved specifications; conducts field inspections to assess progress and workmanship Monitors accurate and comprehensive project records and reviews and approves all project invoices, as well as all project closeout documentation Reviews grant applications. Reviews/approves scope of work and fees for project consultant agreements (design and construction observation) for acceptance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university curriculum. A waiver of minimum requirements may be considered. If you do not meet the minimum qualifications as listed above, your starting salary will be below the minimum stated salary. Special Working Conditions Most duties are performed in an office environment, with site visits conducted as necessary Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel. Job requires exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions. Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
