Staff Nurse

Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $12,500. Position 70% Staff Nurse – Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Iowa Health Care, Campus location. Responsibilities Applies nursing theory to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Collaboratively coordinates continuum of care across settings. Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, socioeconomic factors, and prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, documenting and reporting interventions and patient/family response. Integrates contributions of patients and families into a multidisciplinary patient care plan. Develops, coordinates, and implements transfer and discharge planning throughout the episode of care. Implements nursing interventions per department policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Master’s of Nursing and Healthcare Practice, MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA). Required Qualifications Current license to practice in Iowa by the time of hire. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members. General computer skills. Ability to work well in a team. Desired Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing is highly desired. Active enrollment in a BSN program if the degree is not yet obtained. Oncology experience. Previous experience with EPIC. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $61,183 minimum at 100% effort; varies with experience and effort percentage. Benefits include paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life, and disability insurance; and generous employer contributions to retirement plans. Schedule & Location Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hour shifts. Two extended shifts once every four weeks. No nights, holidays, or weekends. 70% effort (28 hours per week).
