Have you been doing a mental checkoff as you read each item? COOL! We may have just the opportunity for you! But, if 1040, 1040A, 1120, 1120S, 1165, 990, 1099, W-2, and Schedule C is foreign to you, then this is not your gig.
We need someone with experience handling tax documents (see those numbers above) and who has a solid or advanced understanding of a 1040 tax return. Have you worked in a CPA firm and processed/filed tax returns? Yes? Awesome, apply. NO? Then this is not your gig. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:- Prepare drafts of tax returns, Audits, Reviews and Compilations.
- Process tax returns, Audits, Reviews and Compilations for delivery to clients in various formats.
- Electronically file returns in UltraTax after receipt of signed Efile forms and engagement letters.
- Address and resolve Efile rejections.
- Track progress of client tasks and ensure completion by due dates.
- Assign projects/tasks to Admin/Acctg Assistant.
- Process billing reports and distribute to appropriate reviewers.
- Create and send invoicing monthly.
- Oversee Billing processes for all offices.
- Plus more that is too much for this ad but happy to discuss in an interview.
So, what are we looking for in a qualified candidate?
The most qualified candidate will have experience working in a Public Accounting Firm and understands tax forms and how to do a 1040 tax return.
If you have your high school or equivalent diploma that’s a start. An Associate's in Business or Accounting would be a plus. You need to have worked in a CPA firm and have processed tax returns with strong familiarity of how a tax return is prepared for 3 years minimum.
We are looking for someone who is professional, positive, and dependable. We have somewhat of a laidback culture here but we are still a professional business and expect people to perform and present themselves in a professional manner. OH! And, be a nice person who can work independently, be self motivated, and also work collaboratively. Is that really too much to ask?
What about salary and benefits?
This is a full time position. Depending upon the amount of experience one has will determine the wage offered.
As part of your total compensation package, we offer a full array of benefits. They include paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), paid health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plus more. We have a summer and fall special schedule with Friday’s off.
