Manager, Surgical Pathology ($10,000 sign‑on bonus!) – Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Kearny, NJ. Pay Range: $145,000 – $239,300 annually. Job Description Lead the way in advancing surgical pathology at MSK. As Manager of Surgical Pathology, you will play a key role in enhancing diagnostic precision and supporting groundbreaking cancer care. Role Overview Oversee daily operations and supervise technical staff in the Histology, IHC and Cytology laboratories and the morgue, ensuring quality care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to institutional policies and standards. Hire, discipline, train, evaluate performance, and make recommendations for personnel actions. Maintain and improve professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of trends and assist in quality‑improvement initiatives. Develop the operating and capital budgets; institute and maintain cost‑control measures, monitor budget variances, and prepare monthly variance reports. Assist in vendor recommendation/negotiations regarding purchase and maintenance of all equipment. Evaluate and recommend purchase of laboratory supplies, new products, and instrumentation. Review and prepare documentation, reports, and records to ensure information is accurate and meets quality standards. Key Qualifications Bachelor’s or higher degree in biology, chemistry, or the physical sciences registered by NYSED (or equivalent); AND an advanced certificate in clinical laboratory technology with licensure qualifying at graduation (or equivalent). Histopathology experience, including 5 years at a supervisory level, specifically in histological and immunohistochemical processes, special stains, and specimen dissection. NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Histology Technician, Histology Technologist, or Cytotechnologist. ASCP preferred.
