Job Requirements

• Physician (MD) with active clinical practice experience
• Board certified in the appropriate specialty
• At least 1 year of experience in pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine, or a related hospital setting
• Current PALS certification
• Ability to manage pediatric patients independently during call coverage
• Comfort with local drive-in coverage and flexible per diem scheduling
• Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric hospitalist coverage and patient care during assigned call shifts
• Evaluate and manage pediatric patients with varying acuity levels in a hospital setting
• Support ongoing care needs with a patient volume of approximately 1-3 encounters per shift
• Perform pediatric assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care
• Respond to call coverage needs and maintain excellent responsiveness throughout the shift
• Use advanced pediatric clinical and procedural skills when needed, including airway and line management
• Contribute to a reliable, patient-centered coverage model for the department
