Night-Shift Clinical Nurse (RN)

Position Overview The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. This environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. The nursing process is utilized in conjunction with a comprehensive patient‑centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction. Key Employment Details Position: Nurse Clinical/UKHC Location: Lexington,KY Salary: $28.00–$39.10 per hour FTE: 0.9 (Full Time) Shift: Three 12‑hour night shifts per week; holidays and weekends may be required Grade Level: 10 Deadline to Apply: May29,2026 Qualifications Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least1year RN experience Required Experience: None required Required Licenses: Active Kentucky RN license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional or compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification valid for at least6months after employment date Other Requirements Physical: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50–100 pounds daily and 25–50 pounds frequently; stand, walk and sit for extended periods; potential exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, patient injury or sharp instruments Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework, and Swanson’s Caring model Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills Basic computer navigation and working knowledge of the internet Professional and respectful communication with patients, families, co‑workers, and physicians Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills Motivation, pro‑activity, confidence in patient advocacy, teamwork, and independent work ability Equal Employment Opportunity Equal Employment Opportunity/M/F/disability/protected veteran status.
