Primary Purpose: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability and willingness to follow instructions, either written or oral.
• Willingness to work in any situation pertaining to School Food Service.
• Emotional stability and physical fitness to perform duties as assigned at sufficient speed to carry out an efficient operation.
• Personal standards of appearance and dress as required by Food Service.
• Interest in food preparation and service.
• Effective and positive communication skills.
• Interest in children and school programs.
• Ability to perform moderate physical work efficiently with continuous standing.
• Ability and willingness to learn and prescribed food preparation methods.
• Ability to furnish own transportation.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

• Count students on serving line with speed and accuracy.
• Count all money at the end of each serving period accurately and make necessary records for money counted.
• Account for all money until turned over to manager.
• Perform efficiently and to the best of his/her ability the duties assigned in relation to preparation of food, serving of food, cleaning all areas of the kitchen, or other assigned duties in the time allotted.
• Attend training meetings as required.
• Report to work at the designated time and remain on the job until dismissed by the manager.
• Notify manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
• Maintain pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others, patience, respect, self-control, and other desirable character traits.
• Maintain desirable relations between School Board and community.
• Follow all policies of the School Board and instructions of the manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personal standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties.
• Perform duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities and serving of food.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Must successfully complete professional development as required by the School Board.

• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Limited travel is required.
• Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
• Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
• Stand, walk, crouch, and do moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.

Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Holmes County Consolidated School District Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
