Heavy Civil Superintendent

Superintendent – Roadway Earthwork & Urban Reconstruction Looking for a Superintendent who has roadway earthwork experience and urban reconstruction experience. Must have experience with large (e.g., 70 million) roadway projects, including grading, sub‑grading, prep of long strips, excavation, etc. Responsibilities Understand, enforce, and carry out Safety Policies. Create Job Hazard Analysis for assigned tasks and perform safety inspections. Read and understand plans, specifications and local building codes. Schedule and document all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements. Comply with Dust Control, SWPPP, and environmental requirements. Complete daily reports including employee hours, quantities completed, and daily diary. Read and understand project baseline schedules and generate three‑week construction schedules weekly. Schedule and order materials, inspections, equipment and workforce to meet project schedules, productions and specifications. Directly supervise jobsite crews to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules. Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and design purposes. Manage all day‑to‑day operations on the project and keep the project management team apprised. Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of roadway superintendent or foreperson work experience leading heavy equipment crews (e.g., grader, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane, etc.). A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of roadway/highway construction. A minimum of 10 years of roadway, earthwork, road winding type projects. A minimum of 10 years of DOT roadway projects. Education – four or more years of related experience and/or training; or a bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
