Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Ground Test Composites Repair Engineer to lead the complete lifecycle of repairs for ground test equipment, from damage evaluation and customer scoping through repair development, work instructions, and production execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate damage to ground test equipment and develop repair solutions to restore components to original requirements.
• Decompose customer requirements and support repair quoting, cost, and project scheduling .
• Develop repair processes, work instructions, material specifications, and repair tooling.
• Support repair execution with production teams at company and customer locations.
• Develop standardized repair processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Review and disposition nonconforming materials.
• Communicate technical solutions and present repair plans to internal and external customers.
• Support engineering project planning, milestones, and work packages.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers.

Required Qualifications

• STEM Bachelor's degree with 15+ years relevant experience, or advanced STEM degree with 10+ years experience.
• 10+ years of composite manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience with fiberglass, aramid, carbon fiber/prepreg, wet layup, and epoxy resin systems .
• Strong knowledge of composite and bonded structures , adhesives, fiber reinforcement, manufacturing methods, and surface preparation.
• Experience with composite/bonded structures used in gas turbines, aerospace, defense, or similar applications .
• Mechanical design experience including machining, joints, fasteners, and welding .
• Experience designing repair tooling, locating fixtures, grinding depth aids, or similar tooling .
• Knowledge of aerospace NDT methods such as ultrasonic, eddy current, FPI, X-ray, or camera optics.
• Strong GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Strong problem-solving, project ownership, and technical communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Engineering degree.
• Experience with Creo/Windchill, NX, FiberSIM, or Teamcenter .
• CAE and DFM/DFA experience.
• Experience documenting repair validation, analysis, and research.
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost, reproducibility, reliability, quality, and configuration management.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior Composite Repair / Composite Structures Engineer with extensive hands-on composite repair and manufacturing experience, particularly in aerospace or gas-turbine applications , who can independently evaluate damage, develop repair solutions, create work instructions, and support repair execution.
