Methodist’s Adult Med/Surg unit (B5/C5) Methodist’s Adult Med/Surg unit (B5/C5) is a 26‑bed unit providing 24-hour care to acutely ill patients. The unit cares for patients with a variety of medical diagnoses, including renal disease, diabetes management, wound management, pain management, and vascular access issues, supporting patients ranging from young adults to the geriatric age group. This unit is the designated unit for providing all Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) for Methodist Hospital. It also includes an additional 5‑bed End‑of‑life care unit (B5) dedicated to the care of patients at the end of life, including both palliative and hospice care. Shift Full Time Nights! This position currently qualifies for a new hourly wage differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials. More details about this differential will be provided during the interview process. Nursing Skills Gained on this Unit Patient assessment Critical thinking Prioritization of care Building strength in foundational nursing skills Palliative and end‑of‑life care Qualifications Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Requires a current, state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse. Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they have more than two years of acute‑care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Requires Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association. Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient‑care policies. Why Join IU Health?
