Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college/university Current Speech Language Pathology license issued by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services on file at Special Services A demonstrated commitment to career development and lifelong learning Supervises Paraprofessional, when one is assigned. Students who qualify for speech/language services as determined by guidelines. Performance Responsibilities Evaluation and direct services as defined by the needs of the child, including working cooperatively and/or training the paraprofessional, teacher, parent, and other team members regarding the child’s program Consultation as requested regarding the child’s needs Participation in the student’s IEP per district policy and student team meetings as requested Recommendation and follow-up on adapted equipment and assistive technology Evaluation reports, IEP and quarterly updates, end-of-year summary, and other reports as requested Other Develop positive working relationships with administrators, parents, teachers, students, and others Complies with legal directives (e.g., IDEA, Americans with Disabilities Act, Kansas State Statutes) Networks with families, teachers, and other professionals within and outside the school Facilitates meetings effectively Population served Referrals will be made by the Special Education Director or their designee. Referrals are made through classroom teachers, the Student Improvement Team, Infant Toddler (Part C), and/or Preschool screenings. General Responsibilities The therapist shall provide the Special Education Director with a schedule of service delivery and maintain an updated list of students served. Terms of Employment Salary and work year to be established by the Kaw Valley USD #321 School Board. Maintain a valid license on file at Special Services. Evaluation The performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy.
