Job Description A Field Technician (Level 1) serves as a field‑level representative for the Technical Services Division of Clean Earth Contaminated Materials. Field Technicians act as a liaison between customers and various Clean Earth divisions—including Technical Services, Environmental Health & Safety, and Operations—facilitating project start‑ups, scheduling, approvals, and day‑to‑day activities related to the services we provide. General Purpose Field work will be performed in the North Jersey and NY area (5 boroughs). Primary Responsibilities Facilitate and coordinate day‑to‑day aspects related to the movement of material from customer job sites to recycling/disposal facilities. Manage on‑ and off‑site project activities, including communication, scheduling, manifest coordination, logistics, vendor management, and reporting. Act as liaison to coordinate and convey information between customer project sites and Clean Earth departments such as Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, Approvals, and Operations. Manage project transportation logistics, tracking on‑site wait times and return times, ensuring trucks follow pre‑determined routes and stay within state GVW limits. Communicate Clean Earth and job‑specific Health & Safety requirements to vendors and employees as necessary. Record and report project‑specific data, including soil volume/shipping forecasting, daily transportation logs, and approval status. Ensure CE truck driver safety as well as general site safety. Survey and assess material to determine factors such as volume, debris, and moisture content. Collect waste classification sampling in accordance with sampling guidance. Maintain an inventory of safety supplies and an associated spreadsheet of allocated supplies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Self‑directed and self‑motivating, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Microsoft Office Suite 365, Adobe, Connect, Gensuite, Inclassnow, and CORE. DOT Hazmat Training. 40‑Hour OSHA HAZWOPER. 30‑Hour OSHA Construction. Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC). Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Strong customer service skills. Ability to work effectively with different personality types across multiple regions. Experience in creation and modification of job‑related reports. Independent thought. Ability to effectively coordinate multiple, complex projects (up to 8) while simultaneously conducting sampling at various potential and active job sites.
