Accountant - Construction Industry

Salary Range: $70,000-$100,000

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing construction organization. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in construction accounting, project financial management, and job costing within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring and accrual entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage cash applications and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and support collection activities.
• Prepare and submit monthly construction draw applications.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audits and special accounting projects.
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to support job costing and billing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience; internships and relevant coursework are welcomed.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in construction accounting and project-based financial operations.
