Nurse Practitioner I

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This NP position resides within the CAPS for Counseling Services Department, and reports to the Lead Psychiatrist. The individual in this position is responsible for providing clinical services and participating in community engagement activities. As a member of the CAPS Psychiatry Team, the NP conducts initial consultations and psychopharmacology evaluations, and provides clinical services including medication management. The NP also participates in designing and delivering outreach programs to students, as well as developing materials and presentations on topics pertinent to various University constituencies. The professional in this role participates regularly in Campus Health, psychiatry team, and CAPS staff meetings and trainings, and collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary staff in maintaining a consistently high standard of care. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who has completed an accredited University Graduate Nursing Program for Advanced Practice Nursing with the Louisiana Board Certification as a Family NP, Women’s Health NP, Pediatric NP, or Adult NP. Current license to practice as an APRN is required from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing by date of hire.
