Accounts Receivable and Credit Assistant needed for a Manufacturer in Cheektowaga, NY!

Starting at $21/hour (BOE)

Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm/M-F

Position Summary

The AR and Credit Assistant performs credit and accounting functions for the sales office. The job involves using good judgment for order releasing, answering correspondence, and responding to internal and external customer questions. The AR and Credit Assistant supports the Controller.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• AR Collections
• Constant interaction with customers
• Apply check receipts to open AR invoices (backup)
• Prepare daily bank deposits
• Running credit checks on new customers and complete credit package
• Maintain Customer Credit limit file
• Release Credit Holds and process credit card payments
• Clean up outstanding credits on customer aging's
• Prepare AR Debit/Credit memos and works with customer service department regarding RMA's
• Print/Mail/Email Monthly statements
• Cross train with other accounting staff for out of office coverage
• Work with sales team on past due accounts
• Processes customer requests for invoice copies & sends correspondence to expedite collection of accounts.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in accounting or credit.
• Minimum 1 years' experience in accounting or credit.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to make decisions when needed.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently.
