Job Title: Plumber Foreman
Job Description
The Plumber Foreman oversees plumbing crews on commercial construction, renovation, and service projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with codes and quality standards. This role plans and coordinates daily activities, interprets blueprints and construction documents, installs and troubleshoots complex plumbing systems, and serves as a key liaison between field teams, project leadership, and other trades. The Plumber Foreman also plays a critical role in training and mentoring apprentices and journeyman plumbers while maintaining project profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct plumbing crews on commercial construction, renovation, and service projects.
Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work activities to maximize productivity and meet project milestones.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents to guide installation and layout.
Install, inspect, and troubleshoot plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste, venting, storm drainage, and specialty piping systems.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain workflow and project schedules.
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes, as well as company quality standards.
Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
Track labor productivity, material usage, and overall project progress.
Order, manage, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for assigned projects.
Train, mentor, and develop apprentices and journeyman plumbers to enhance team skills and performance.
Complete required reports, documentation, and timekeeping accurately and on time.
Essential Skills
At least 4 years of direct management experience supervising plumbing crews.
Strong experience in commercial construction plumbing, including installation and service work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
Hands-on expertise with plumbing systems such as domestic water, sanitary waste, venting, storm drainage, and specialty piping.
Proficiency with piping layout, pipefitting, and pipe systems installation.
Skilled in working with PVC and cast iron piping materials.
Competence in soldering and pipe threading using appropriate hand tools.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal plumbing codes and standards.
Ability to lead safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
Strong organizational skills to plan work, track labor productivity, material usage, and project progress.
Effective communication and coordination skills for working with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification.
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience managing tools, equipment, and materials across multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to resolve field issues while maintaining customer satisfaction and project profitability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
