Purpose of Position:

• Sample Inventory Shipper supports plant operations through the preparation, packaging, shipment, and movement of product samples and inventory materials. Responsibilities include fulfilling sample orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, assisting with warehouse transfers, organizing materials, and supporting daily shipping and receiving activities within the plant environment.
• This position works closely with Operations, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure timely handling of materials and efficient workflow throughout the facility. The role is primarily hands-on and operational in nature, involving routine material handling, inventory movement, and shipping support activities.

What you will be doing:

• Track FedEx sample packages daily and follow up on delivery issues or delays as needed. Build and ship FedEx orders as needed.
• Coordinate shipments from Saginaw warehouse to outside storage facilities with the transportation team.
• Maintain regular communication with Sales, R&D, Marketing, and any department request regarding sample requests, priorities, and timelines, including coordination with Sales Support Admin Assistant on sample needs.
• Create demo orders and replenish fresh, dry, and frozen sample inventory to support timely sample shipments.
• Create order numbers and schedule appointments for frozen transfers to third-party cold storage facilities.
• Coordinate shipments and inventory transfers to the Saginaw warehouse from outside storage facilities (e.g., Lineage and Americold) in partnership with the Transportation team.
• Keep sample-related areas neat, organized, and properly stocked, including dry goods closet, Saginaw Freezer, and Fresh Sample Area.
• Use inventory and shipping systems to support order processing, inventory tracking, and warehouse operations.
• Assist Inventory Control Specialist with cycle counts, and inventory needs as time allows.
• Assist warehouse staff build orders and load trailers as time allows.
• Perform other duties as required.

Your qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Forklift experience 2 years minimum.
• Basic computer skills required, Microsoft Outlook & Excel.
• Organizational skills: Ability to keep work areas neat, organized, and properly stocked.
• Ability to read and write in English, count accurately, and do simple math.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, bend, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to adapt to cold warehouse environment (-10 to 40 degrees).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
