Board-Certified Physician Opportunity

East Central Regional Hospital (ECRH) is currently seeking a full-time Board-Certified Physician for their Augusta Campus.

Job Description:

• Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
• Advises patients on health care including health promotion, disease, illness, and accident prevention.
• Examines patients and takes their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Consults with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health.
• Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
• Provides emergency medical care.
• Supervision:
• Supervises two medical nurse practitioners.
• Supervises medical students on rotation and occasionally resident.
• Care Team:
• Coordinates work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other health care providers.
• Directs and coordinates activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
• Other:
• Participation in various committees and involvement in performance improvement projects other responsibilities as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law and two years of experience; candidates should be board certified in Family Medicine or a related area.
