About this role


Client is looking for a Software Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their platform team and build the infrastructure and internal systems the rest of engineering depends on.

This is a software engineering role on an infrastructure team, not an operations role. The person should be writing services and systems in Golang or a comparable systems language, designing for large distributed systems, and running cloud infrastructure at production scale. Coding ability is critical - candidates are held to the same engineering bar as product engineers and must clear a rigorous coding screen plus a dedicated systems design round.

What the person will do


Design, build, and own backend services and systems that make up the platform layer


Build and scale distributed systems serving enterprise-grade traffic and multi-tenant workloads


Deploy, scale, and monitor cloud infrastructure at production scale on AWS or GCP


Build internal developer platforms and tooling that product engineers depend on day to day


Work across infrastructure tooling - Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka - to support reliable delivery


Engage directly with customers to sharpen understanding of the product and its requirements

Requirements



Dealbreakers -Must have requirements


Worked on platform/infrastructure teams as a software engineer - writing services and systems, not just managing or operating infrastructure


Strong software engineering fundamentals - must pass a rigorous Leetcode-style coding screen, held to the same bar as product engineer


Systems design for large distributed systems (tested in a dedicated interview round)

Baseline - expected


4+ years of experience as a software engineer building distributed systems


Built or scaled systems serving enterprise-grade traffic or multi-tenant SaaS


Backend development in Golang or a comparable systems language


Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) - deployment, scaling, and monitoring at production scale


Familiarity with infrastructure tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka) - deep expertise not required, baseline awareness expected

Nice-to-have


Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling that product engineers depend on


Background at big tech companies and successful startups

Technical Skills



Language: Golang, or a comparable systems language



Cloud: AWS or GCP - deployment, scaling, and monitoring at production scale



Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka (baseline awareness; not tested in depth)
