Join to apply for the CNC / EDM Machine Operator - 3rd Shift role at GE Vernova Job Description Summary The CNC Machine Operator will work at the Parsippany, NJ Metem a GE Power business manufacturing plant and operate a variety of production equipment and tooling. You will also have ownership of safety, compliance, quality, and productivity. What you’ll do: Set‑up and operate CNC machines to perform 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining operations. Lift workpiece onto table manually or with material handling equipment and position it securely. Select and install tooling, place tools in automatic tool changer as specified. Record production inspection results in the computer data system. Observe numerical displays, compare with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speed; check program at start of each shift. Record and inspect key dimensions for conformance to specifications using a micrometer and precision dial gauges. Troubleshoot production problems and report unusual problems or conditions to supervisor. Deburr all pieces according to specifications and good machining practice. Maintain tools and measuring instruments supplied by company. Promote a safe machine operation and material handling culture. What Will You Bring: High School Diploma / GED. Minimum of 1 year experience in EDM/CNC or tooling production or equivalent in a manufacturing environment. Eligibility Requirements 3rd Shift: (10pm-6am). A background in machine operation, assembly, or equipment maintenance. CNC/EDM operator experience. Comfortable working with tools and following manufacturing work instructions. Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shift. Willingness to wear all required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, safety shoes). Required U.S. status and ability to qualify for U.S. export‑controlled information (proof of status before employment). What Will Make You Stand Out Proficient shop math skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing shop. Strong communication and follow‑up skills. Ability to work with computerized shop floor tools. Strong team player and flexible willingness to move to different areas. Pay The pay for this position is $27.50/hr. to $30.50/hr. plus 10% shift differential.
