Located in Carlsbad, CA and Oceanside, CA, British Swim School of Carlsbad-Encinitas is more than just a swim lesson provider. We’re a survival-first, learn-to-swim school dedicated to teaching life-saving water safety skills in a fun, gentle, and progressive way. As a Swim Instructor, you’ll teach children and adults (starting as young as 3 months old) using our proven curriculum. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fun, interactive environment and enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities. You’ll receive extensive paid training to ensure you’re confident and prepared to deliver safe, engaging, and effective swim lessons.

• Teach swim lessons following the British Swim School curriculum to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.
• Arrive poolside in uniform 30 minutes before your first lesson, ready to create a fun and engaging atmosphere.
• Support the Business Owners and Aquatics Manager in maintaining a high-quality program.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment (paid by the employer).
• Work in a dynamic environment with moderate to high noise levels and spend up to 4 consecutive hours in the water.
• Availabilities to choose from on the weekday evenings (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM), and Saturday mornings (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM).

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently in progress).
• Enthusiastic, assertive, and customer-focused personality.
• Comfortable in and around water (strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught!).
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
• Ability to follow schedules, safety procedures, and British Swim School teaching methods.
• Must complete 30-40 hours of paid in-person training and maintain certifications throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children.
• Background as a Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) is a major plus.
• 1-2 years of swimming experience. Swim team experience is a plus.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (preferred but can be obtained during training).
