CANDIDATES MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH ORTHO CASES---- Holiday and weekend call required (5-6 shifts per month) No overnight or weekend shifts (call only) 6 rooms, 15-20 cases per day It is an expectation that ALL travelers help with precepting and orienting new staff and travelers 2 years of experience required Teaching Hospital and Community Hospital experience required BLS required First time travelers NOT accepted Req Experience: General Surgery, endoscopic procedures, orthopedics Pref Experience: L&D, genecology, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology Scheduling is self-schedule sign up and balanced by the OR lead; call is self-sign up Floating is a potential Scrubs provided by facility Nebraska Medical Center - Nebraska Medical Center (NMC) is the No. 1 rated hospital in the Omaha metro area and the state of Nebraska. Locals Accepted: NO (candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility) Call-Back & Extended Shifts: Please be advised that the call-back rate is only paid if a traveler is on-call offsite and is called-back to the facility after their shift has ended. If their shift is extended due to census or a case running over, they will be paid at their regular rate until they go into overtime. They should not be clocking out and back in for any shifts that run over or are extended. Please be aware that travelers are not paid the same as Core staff members at Nebraska Medicine as Core staff are incentivized differently. The Core Staff policy does not apply to travelers and travelers will only be paid call-back when placed on-call after their shift has ended; they have left the facility, and are called-back. If they have questions while on assignment, please direct them to their agency to discuss their pay.
