Lead Infant Teacher – Primrose School of Forest Hill

Primrose School of Forest Hill is looking for a warm, dependable, and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our growing school family. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with babies and understands the importance of providing nurturing, responsive care during a child's earliest years.

As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will create a safe, loving, and engaging classroom where our youngest children feel secure, supported, and excited to discover the world around them. You'll build meaningful relationships with children and families while supporting important developmental milestones.

At Primrose, you don't have to create curriculum from scratch. Our exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum provides established resources and age-appropriate learning experiences, allowing you to focus on what matters most—connecting with the children in your care and helping them learn, grow, and thrive.

Pay: $19–$21 per hour, based on education, qualifications, credentials, and experience.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position . Our school is open from 7:00 AM–6:00 PM , and we are looking for candidates with flexible availability who can work scheduled opening or closing shifts within our operating hours. No nights or weekends!

What You'll Do

• Provide loving, individualized care for infants 
• Create a warm, nurturing, and responsive classroom where infants feel safe and supported 
• Follow each child's individual feeding, sleeping, and daily routines 
• Implement age-appropriate learning experiences using the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum 
• Support children's physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional development 
• Observe and document developmental progress and milestones 
• Maintain a clean, organized, engaging, and safe classroom environment 
• Follow safe sleep practices and applicable health, safety, sanitation, and supervision requirements 
• Communicate positively and professionally with families about their child's day and development 
• Build strong and trusting relationships with families 
• Collaborate with co-teachers and our school Leadership Team 
• Follow Primrose Schools standards and applicable Maryland COMAR child care licensing requirements 

Maryland Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must meet applicable Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Office of Child Care, and COMAR requirements to serve as a qualified Child Care Teacher working with infants.

Candidates should meet an applicable Maryland qualification pathway, which may include:

• Approved early childhood/child development coursework and required infant/toddler training 
• A qualifying Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential 
• Qualifying college coursework or a degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, as applicable under Maryland requirements 
• Applicable combination of approved training, education, and experience required for the position 

Additional Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years of age 
• Must meet applicable Maryland requirements to serve as a Child Care Teacher in an infant classroom 
• Must have applicable infant and toddler training required for the position 
• Must meet applicable experience requirements 
• Must complete required health, safety, ADA, and other mandatory child care training 
• Must meet applicable CPR and First Aid certification requirements 
• Must successfully complete required Maryland background checks and clearances 
• Must be able to provide applicable training certificates, transcripts, credentials, and other documentation needed to verify qualifications 

Candidates who are already qualified to serve as a Maryland Child Care Teacher in an infant classroom and can provide documentation of their qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.

We're looking for someone who is nurturing, patient, dependable, positive, and professional. Previous professional experience working with infants in a licensed child care or early childhood education setting is preferred. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a collaborative team member, and someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships with children and families.

Candidates must be available to work a full-time Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility to work scheduled opening or closing shifts during our 7:00 AM–6:00 PM operating hours .
