Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: 2 years of inpatient RN experience required License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Patient assessment - Care plan development - Care plan implementation - Care plan evaluation - Patient education

Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient, and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are a priority for the RN. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is required. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is critical. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is an important aspect of the role.

Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, and provides education specific to patient and family needs. Evaluates education as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor or preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
