Anesthesia Technician - Full Time

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists by preparing equipment and supplies for each surgical case. This includes connecting monitoring lines, preparing infusion sets, applying to the patient, operating physiological monitors, drawing arterial blood gas and other specimens, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment used in the operating room. Responsibilities Participate in the anesthesia team to provide full range of specialized procedures, including emergency situations. Maintain equipment: evaluate current equipment, keep records, schedule maintenance and replacement, and track utilization to eliminate unnecessary supplies. Collect blood specimens following aseptic techniques and safety recommendations. Identify and arrange for in‑service education with the Chief of Anesthesia and vendors. Develop monthly staffing schedule with the Chief of Anesthesia and OR scheduling office; post schedule two weeks prior to the next period. Oversee equipment and supply utilization, evaluate alternatives based on corporate initiatives. Organize and manage the anesthesia workroom: select instruments, troubleshoot problems, and clean and decontaminate before patient arrival. Assist with positioning and supporting patients for regional anesthesia procedures such as spinals and epidurals. Operate, calibrate, and maintain technical equipment in a timely and competent manner. Qualifications High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED) or equivalent. Experience in the operating room and familiarity with OR supplies and hospital setting. Knowledge of sterile technique and asepsis. Preferred Licenses and Certifications Certification as an Anesthesia Technician or Technologist. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting and does not reflect the full value of the total rewards package. Compensation is determined by market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Some positions may be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, commissions, shift differentials, and other benefits.
