A nationally recognized healthcare system is seeking an experienced System Director of Oncology Pharmacy Services to lead pharmacy operations across multiple oncology infusion and inpatient settings in East Tennessee. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working with a dedicated, collaborative oncology team.
About the Role

The System Director for Oncology Pharmacy Services will oversee all aspects of oncology pharmacy operations within both ambulatory infusion centers and inpatient oncology units. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing medication safety and efficiency, and leading a high-performing team in support of exceptional cancer care.

You will work closely with oncology pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to develop and maintain protocols, ensure safe and compliant chemotherapy and immunotherapy practices, and enhance overall quality and efficiency across the system's oncology pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the system-level leader and pharmacist-in-charge for oncology pharmacy services across multiple sites.
• Oversee pharmacy operations for both inpatient and outpatient oncology, ensuring compliance with USP <797> and <800> , DEA, Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, NIOSH, HRSA (340B), and FDA standards.
• Evaluate and improve medication use, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement oncology clinical pathways, policies, and protocols.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and manage budgets for oncology pharmacy operations.
• Oversee 2 direct reports and approximately 30 indirect reports.
• Ensure charge capture accuracy, drug utilization appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership support for expanding oncology infusion services and the development of new pharmacy programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
• Experience:
  
  • Minimum of 5 years of oncology clinical practice (if PGY-1 trained) or 3 years (if PGY-2 trained).
  • Prior leadership experience in oncology pharmacy is required.
• Licensure: Must hold an active Tennessee Pharmacist License (or be eligible for reciprocity).
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills are essential.

• This position is fully onsite at the organization's downtown Knoxville oncology campus, with occasional travel to nearby satellite clinics.
