This opportunity is located near Shawnee, KS, and is perfect for those passionate about facilitating communication and educational access for students who use American Sign Language. Enjoy consistent weekday hours from 8:00am to 3:00pm, working 7.5-hour shifts Monday through Friday.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or in a paraprofessional role is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
• Clear communication skills, patience, and adaptability in a middle school environment
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Sign Language Interpreter for students requiring communication support
• Assist in the classroom by interpreting lessons and facilitating two-way interaction between students and teachers
• Support students’ academic and social engagement by ensuring information is accurately conveyed
• Collaborate with educators to implement accommodations and contribute to IEP goals as needed
• Support individual students or small groups throughout the school day, adapting to various classroom activities
