Mobile Phlebotomist

Job Summary Full Time Shift: 5:00am-1:30pm. Pay Range: $18.00-$20.00 (Based on experience) and mileage reimbursement. Role The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, works to provide clinical pre‑analytical laboratory services to our clients/patients in a mobile setting. They are responsible for completing their assigned routes in a safe and timely manner and following all policies and procedures. Responsibilities Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher and/or supervisor. Unload phlebotomy tray and transport to patient's bedside to collect samples ordered by physicians. Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens. Collect, label, process and deliver specimens obtained from patients. Reload equipment and necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery. Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location. Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions in controlling blood‑borne pathogens and infectious diseases. Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational prerequisites. Keep work area clean and follow all required safety precautions at all times. Report unsafe conditions, complaints, and problems encountered. Monitor supplies inventory and report low stock or out‑of‑stock situations. Identify and segregate expired supplies. Arrive to work promptly, properly groomed, wearing proper identification when visiting a facility. Accurately maintain time records of hours worked and deliver to company as directed. Manage shift to include meal breaks. Create all required records per instructions. Use only approved documents and follow written procedures without personal deviation. Participate in on‑call evenings and weekends as needed and may work irregular unscheduled overtime based on workload or absenteeism. Required Skills Excellent communication and interaction skills, especially with pediatric and geriatric populations. Professional treatment of customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion. Regular attendance. Current, valid state phlebotomy license (if required). Current, valid state driver’s license; automobile insurance; good driving record; possession of a vehicle in good working condition suitable for daily driving. Proficiency in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques. Knowledge of laboratory operations. Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination. Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, handle or feel, talk and hear, and occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift and/or move up to 35 pounds on occasion. Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The employee works in all weather and driving conditions. Must safely operate in a standard medical laboratory environment with potential health hazards, using Personal Protective Equipment, and following appropriate health and safety policies.
