Temp-Hire | $20 - $24/hr DOE | Full-Time | North Houston, TXLofton Staffing is currently hiring a Welder Helper / Fabrication Helper for a growing manufacturing company in North Houston. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on shop experience who wants to build their skills and grow within a welding and fabrication environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience using shop equipment such as band saws, grinders, and drill presses and be comfortable assisting experienced welders with fabrication projects. This position offers the opportunity to learn additional skills, including plasma table operation, with room for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist steel welders and fabricators with daily production activities
- Prepare, cut, and move steel materials throughout the shop
- Operate shop equipment including band saws, grinders, and drilling machines
- Assist with material preparation, part movement, and general fabrication support
- Learn and train on plasma table operation and other fabrication equipment
- Read and follow work instructions, measurements, and shop processes
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
- Support the team with additional shop duties as needed
- Previous experience in a welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop environment preferred
- Experience with band saws, grinding, drilling machines, or similar equipment
- Comfortable working with steel and metal materials
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
